Information

Laurel belongs to the Laurus genus and to the Lauraceae family; it is
a perennial evergreen shrub and can take the form of a bush or a
tree so that if it finds the ideal conditions it may even reach 10 - 12
meters in height.
Its leaves, which are carried by a short petiole, are lanceolate,
leathery, of a beautiful dark green with wavy edges and a glossy top
page; the lower page instead is of a pale and opaque yellow-green;
Laurel leaves are rich in resin glands that give the characteristic
aroma.
The Laurel produced by “Azienda Agricola Filippone” comes from
wild crops, trees that grow wild in the Madonie mountains 1000
meters above sea level, in an unspoiled area that benefits from both
the altitude and the sea breeze.
All stages of processing are carried out by hand by means of
traditional techniques, in order to maintain the natural
characteristics of the product.

Characteristics

It is recommended to use Laurel in cooking, to give flavor to various
dishes of meat and fish and to season vegetables and mushrooms in
olive oil and vinegar. Since ancient times, Laurel has been attributed
tonic-stimulant, digestive, appetizer, expectorant, carminative and
diuretic properties. We present our Laurel in small bunches sealed in
single packets in order to maintain its peculiar characteristics, which
remain unaltered until the crumbling.

worked and packaged rigorously by hand as required by tradition,
