Foglino Azienda Agricola

The Foglino Azienda Agricola today consists of approximately 12 acres located in the town of Castel Boglione and Canelli, fully planted with vines. Most of the extension is located in the town of Castel Boglione where they are grown Barbera,
Pinot Noir , Cabernet Sauvignon and Dolcetto, while in the town of Canelli are Muscat and Chardonnay.
Since 2010 we rented an olive grove in the province of Siena and we have dedicated ourselves to the production of olive oil.
The vineyards are situated at an altitude of about 250m above sea level with exposure South-South/East on the border between the Langhe and Monferrato. Just the fact of being positioned between the Langhe and Monferrato for the territory represented by a compliance hills very sweet. The type of soil is limestone and clay of medium slope with grass cover.
The amount of vines per hectare is approximately 4,000 with a spacing of 90 x 250 with the form of Guyot training system.
The average production is about 5000/6000 kg / hectare. The accurate processing during the year, the limited use of chemicals, the complete absence of fertilizers together with love of Agostino mean that the grapes produced best express their varietal characteristics which then create the identity of the wine, leading to high concentration of juice, sugar and fruit.
During the summer period is the thinning of the grapes. This process called "Green Harvest”, is carried out two/three times a year, depending on the weather and the year and, in addition to reducing the production, means that the grapes produced
